Claim Your Site
When I try to sign up for my site, I see a different site listed. What should I do? If you can’t sign up for your website, it means that ALEXA does not recognize your site as a separate site. Note that Alexa measures traffic to domains. We do not recognize subdomains as separate sites.
If your site has been incorrectly merged with another site, you can unmerge them using the Dealias Tool If it looks like Alexa does not recognize your site as separate from your hosting company, then you can submit a help ticket to create a separate listing for your site: Submit a help ticket (Note: You will be asked to login before you can submit your ticket!) Can I edit my site information without claiming my site? You must claim your site in order to update your site’s listing information. In order to prevent unauthorized changes to a site’s listing information on ALEXA RANK we require that site owners claim their site in order to prove ownership. Claiming your site involves uploading an Alexa-generated file to your website, or putting an Alexa verification ID into the HTML of your website. Here’s how to claim your site. If you get an error saying that Alexa cannot find the code on your site, you should view the HTML of your home page and check if the verification ID or Certify Code is actually present in the source code.
